Date Night

Overall, a positive day. Walked with Max (strolling most it) for over 3 hours at different times. He loves being outside. Melting down around meals and during "transitions." Can I get an AMEN?! So, we're going to keep it short tonight. Date Night here in Hungary for the Unruhs! We're going to watch a FAMILY TIES episode on a dvd we brought and drink some seltzer water while Max sleeps. :) WE MISS YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Love the date night! Taking it where you can get it - Ha! Really missing you guys. I'm drinking more Earl Grey these days - makes me feel like you're a little closer, Ang. Praying for you continually and love the posts, even if they're quick. Lots of hugs!

  2. I am sure you are getting tons of great advice from all your friends that are parents...but just wanted you both to know at school having walked thru change with kiddos who literally were dropped off in our room with zero English skills, kiddos who are just new to school, and kiddos moving up from the room next to our room..meltdowns at transitions and anytime they are tired, or hungry is typical..something ALL 3 yr olds must have in their DNA somewhere?!?!

When I read about your sweet moments with him and how willing he is to follow what you are asking him to do, I am confident you are doing an amazing job..probably better than you think!!! God is just enough!! He knew these days were coming and He is there every step of the way!!! Praying tons~Sue

  4. Hey Jeff and Angie,
Two fun things that Jessie and Alex liked to do when we were in Budapest were to go to the zoo, located in City Park, and ride on the bike thingie around the island in the middle of the Danube between the Buda (hill) and Pest (city) sides of the city. The zoo was a really nice one and had wagons available to pull the kids around in.
The island had those two person side by side bike/carriage things with baskets in front for little kids, like the ones people rent on the canal in downtown Indy, to ride on paths around the island. Or there are also golf carts to rent. We usually took a picnic lunch for that.
Also, Dana and Tommy Dove have the gift of hospitality, so don't be shy about calling them. Besides Anna, they have two boys, Aaron who is 5 and Alex who is 3. They'd enjoy having you visit if you wanted Max to be around some kinda American kids before heading home.
    Hugs and prayers,
    Jessie and Marcia

  5. so thrilled to hear you can still make room for a date night - even in the midst of this crazy and awesome transition. Three months into marriage and realizing how important those date nights can be - no matter how simple they are! Nothing like a good seltzer water either.

    lots of love!
