Countdown

In our last entry, we mentioned we are in our final countdown. This is something we'd love for you to be praying about even now as we anticipate our last days here in Hungary. We will receive official custody of Max on Friday, October 14. My dad arrives in Hajduszoboszlo that afternoon. We'll spend Saturday here and leave for Budapest on Sunday the 16th. On Monday and Tuesday we will be working on the necessary legal paperwork to get Max's birth certificate and passport completed. We are due to fly out at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday the 19th. Please pray that each document can be processed and in our hands so that we can leave on time. We are so ready to come home as we have things awaiting us and getting our flights changed at that last minute could be really difficult.

We continue to thank God for the amazing weather we've had here--24 days of sunshine in a row--and the bonding that is happening with Max. He seems more and more settled and more and more responsive to us--particularly when we need to say "no." Susannah and Marta's visit was such a boost; it was hard to see them go. Your prayers and words of encouragement as well as what God has been showing us through His word remind us of His faithful presence here.

  1. Dear Jeff and Angie,

I can not begin to tell you how much this journey of yours has been an encouragement to me. We are praying for you often. Thank you for doing this. You will be looked after in all ways by the Lord. You are doing something he asks of all of us. Bless you so much.
    Love and blessings,

  2. Beck and Dane talk quite frequently about their cousin Max. They like to do age comparisons: Beck mentions that he's the oldest cousin and Dane likes to remind us that he's older than Max. Dane is convinced that with some effort, he can at some point become older than Beck. In a word, they can't wait to meet their newest family member. They also think it's cool that Max's last name is Unruh as well.
Countdown indeed! Always thinking of you guys...
